Winter Basics

If you're new to winter fishing in the Driftless, the first thing I'd tell you is to keep your day short. Plan around the warmest 3-4 hours of the day, that's usually when the fish are the most active, as well as being the most comfortable time for us. Here's a little cheat sheet of what we've found works pretty well over the years.
